Meet Dane, the founder of Powder Hunter Snowboards – a brand built in the heart of Wānaka with a vision to give Kiwi riders something of their own.

Like many great ideas, this one came from change. After a big shift in life, Dane saw an opportunity: New Zealand has a small but passionate snowboard community, and it was missing something – a local brand designed by riders, for riders. That’s where Powder Hunter was born.

For Dane, snowboarding isn’t just a sport – it’s a way of life. His goal is to create boards that reflect the uniqueness of Aotearoa and give both locals and visitors the chance to ride something special. Tourists can even take home a board designed in Wānaka, carrying a piece of New Zealand back to the slopes around the world.

But Powder Hunter isn’t only about gear – it’s about community. You’ll find them supporting grassroots events, local comps, and of course, out on the mountain just riding for fun. Dane says it best:
