🛑 Mt Iron Car Park Temporarily Closed
If you're planning a walk up Mt Iron, take note — the main car park is temporarily closed for maintenance and upgrades. The closure is expected to last until late June, weather permitting.
🚶♀️ Alternative access is still available via the Hidden Hills entrance and Riverside Road.
Council and DOC are working together to ensure track safety and clear signage, while encouraging respectful parking in nearby areas.

❄️ Cold Kids Campaign – Let’s Keep Local Kids Warm
The Cold Kids Campaign, led by Community Link, is back in action to provide firewood, heaters, and winter gear to local families in need.
With rising living costs, the need is greater than ever this year.
❤️ Community response has already been generous, but more donations are needed.
You can contribute online, drop off items, or even help deliver firewood. Every little bit helps!
🌫 What Are the New Air Monitoring Units?
You may have noticed new air monitoring units around town — they’re part of an initiative to measure particulate matter and air quality trends, particularly during winter.
📊 The data collected will help inform future environmental policies and heating regulations.
Results will be shared publicly, giving locals transparency on the air they’re breathing.
📲 Emergency Mobile Alert Test Coming Soon
A nationwide Emergency Mobile Alert test will be conducted soon.
📅 The test ensures that emergency alerts can reach mobile users during disasters.
If you receive a test message — don’t panic — no action is needed. Just a reminder of how our emergency system keeps us safe.
