ADHD isn’t just a childhood condition; many adults live with it too, sometimes without even knowing. To explore this, we spoke with Kiara Moore from Aspiring Therapy about how ADHD affects adults and what support is available.

What is ADHD in Adults? Kiara explained that ADHD in adults often looks different from childhood ADHD. Instead of hyperactivity, adults struggle more with focus, time management, and organization. "Many adults don’t realize they have ADHD until later in life," Kiara noted, adding that they often develop coping strategies that can mask the symptoms.

How Does ADHD Impact Daily Life? ADHD can make it tough to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage everyday tasks. "Many adults with ADHD feel overwhelmed, always playing catch-up," Kiara said. This can lead to stress, anxiety, and strained relationships at work and home.

What Can Help? For those suspecting ADHD, Kiara advised seeking a diagnosis and understanding that support is available. Therapy, medication, and practical strategies, like breaking tasks into smaller steps or using time-blocking, can help manage the condition. "It’s about finding what works best for you," Kiara emphasized.

Kiara also shared tips for supporting someone with ADHD, focusing on communication and patience. "Understanding that disorganization or forgetfulness is part of the condition can make a big difference," she said.
